Arriving into the United Kingdom

By Air: 
Nearest major International Airports: Edinburgh and Newcastle

Both airports run regular tram and bus services to the city centre, where you can connect with train and bus services.

 

Getting to Dunbar

By Rail: 
Dunbar is conveniently situated on the East Coast Main Line. Direct rail services run from Edinburgh (journey time: 30 minutes), Newcastle (1 hour 10 minutes) and London (4 hours 30 minutes).

By Bus:
Perryman's Buses operate regular services connecting Edinburgh to Dunbar, Cockburnspath, St Abbs, Eyemouth and Berwick-upon-Tweed.

By Car:
If you plan to travel by car it is occasionally possible to leave it at the Guest House or Hotel at the start or end of your walk, for the duration of your holiday. We can check this for you when your booking is confirmed.

 

Returning from Berwick-upon-Tweed

By Air: 
Nearest major International Airports: Edinburgh and Newcastle

By Rail:
Berwick-upon-Tweed is conveniently situated on the East Coast Main Line. Direct rail services run to Edinburgh (journey time: 45 minutes), Newcastle (45 minutes) and London (3 hours 40 minutes).

By Bus:
Perryman's Buses operate regular services connecting Edinburgh to Dunbar, Cockburnspath, St Abbs, Eyemouth and Berwick-upon-Tweed.


Train Tickets
Great savings can be made by buying your train tickets in advance through The Trainline website
. Although tickets can only be mailed to a UK address, overseas customers can still order tickets in advance and collect them from a Fast Ticket machine in the UK. Fast Ticket machines are located in most mainline railway stations.
