Itinerary

This is our suggested itinerary for our Adventure Scotland self-drive tour. All of our itineraries are fully flexible and we would be delighted to add additional nights, or tailor the route to match your interests. Please request this when making an enquiry.

Day 1 - Glasgow to the Isle of Arran

Travel west to catch the ferry over to Arran. Known as "Scotland in Miniature", Arran is Scotland’s most southerly island and a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. There are rugged mountain peaks and deep glens to explore and ever changing coastal views around every corner. Arran's terrain is ideal for walking, cycling and a vast range of outdoor pursuits.

Day 3 - Isle of Arran to Fort William

Depart Arran by morning ferry and travel along the wonderfully scenic western seaboard and into the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Your destination is Fort William, situated amid one of Scotland’s most magnificent landscapes, beside Loch Linnhe and metres from Ben Nevis.

The surrounding area of Lochaber is recognised as the Outdoor Capital of the UK, with world class mountain-biking at the Nevis Range and serious walking in the hills around Glen Nevis.

Day 4 - Fort William

Day 5 - Fort William to the Cairngorms National Park

Your journey takes you into the heart of the Cairngorms National Park for a true wilderness experience. There are mountains to climb, forests to explore, rivers and lochs to navigate, kayak and canoe. Adventure comes as standard here and everything lies at the heart of the perfection that is the Cairngorms.

Day 6 - Cairngorms National Park

Day 7 - Cairngorms National Park

If you’re seeking a break from adventure, spend the day exploring the wonderful scenery of Speyside. Here you’ll find the Malt Whisky Trail - concentrated within a few miles are more distilleries than any other area in Scotland. Visit the Highland Capital of Inverness, historic Cawdor Castle or Culloden Battefield, where in 1746 the last battle took place on British soil.

Day 8 - Cairngorms National Park to Glasgow

Travel from the Highlands to the Lowlands with a drive through the heart of our country through beautiful Highland Perthshire and on to Glasgow.
