Walk of the Month - Tour of the Lake District

What is the Tour of the Lake District?

The Tour of the Lake District is a circular route through an area famously described by Wordsworth as ‘the loveliest spot that man hath found’. With its rolling hills, shimmering lakes and charming villages, it is easy to see why. The Lake District’s landscape is world-renowned for its beauty, and it has received National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site status in order to ensure its protection.

The trail allows you to experience a pleasant mixture of bustling towns such as Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick and more quaint secluded areas found in the Western Fells. This combination gives you a great understanding of the Lake District’s dynamic culture and landscape. Throughout your walk, you will encounter warm hospitality everywhere you turn, which will help give you excellent memories of your journey.
