What is the Rob Roy Way?

The Rob Roy Way allows you to see some of Scotland’s greatest scenery, encountering an abundance of lochs, glens and rivers. The route starts in Drymen, close to Loch Lomond, and takes you along the Trossachs all the way to the beautiful Perthshire town of Pitlochry. Over the course of the walk, you will cross the boundary between the Lowlands and the Highlands and encounter a drastic change of scenery as a result.

The route is named after one of Scotland’s greatest folk heroes, Rob Roy, who frequently travelled across this area. Rob Roy has often been named as the ‘Scottish Robin Hood’ for his fearless actions against powerful forces. The Trossachs have been nicknamed ‘Rob Roy country’ ever since.

This route is perfect for those wanting to experience a walk of drastic beauty, taking you through some of the greatest highlights of Scotland.
