Your Eryri Snowdonia 360 road trip begins at the border of England and Wales in the medieval city of Chester – a place steeped in history. Take some time to visit the impressive cathedral and walk along the ancient city walls.

From here you will drive along the length of the North Wales coastline to the town of Conwy. Along the route, discover the famous seaside towns of Rhyl and Colwyn Bay where people have flocked since Victorian times to drink in the benefits of fresh sea air. The traditional pier and colourful townhouses of Llandudno offer one of the most famous backdrops in Wales. The cobblestone streets of Conwy are the perfect place for a wander and, on your sightseeing day, you could take a day trip to the beautiful Isle of Anglesey.

Porthmadog is a bustling harbour town and a base from where railway enthusiasts can ride the Welsh Highland or Heritage Railways. Nearby Portmeirion is one of the most popular attractions in Wales, a town inspired by the Italian villages of the Amalfi coast and a plethora of colour, vibrancy and exotica.

In a place of immense natural beauty, lose yourself for a day exploring the Llyn Peninsula AONB which plays host to unique seaside towns and villages, vast open beaches and the most wondrous seascapes.

A drive along the Cardigan coast allows you to take in more impressive sea views, visiting Harlech Castle on your way through South Eryri (Snowdonia). Stop in Barmouth and walk along the palm-lined blue flag beach and enjoy the pleasant little seaside village of Aberdyfi with pastel houses and a quaint old harbour.

The drive back north through Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park is a spectacular one that leads to your final stop, Betws-y-Coed. Here you have the ideal base to explore this immense area filled with opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy mountains, rivers and woodland or explore the picturesque villages and towns.

As you drive into Conwy, admire the imposing castle standing proud over the town and from where lead the winding city walls.

Head across the Menai Bridge built by Thomas Telford for a day trip to the island of Anglesey. Beaumaris Castle is one of the most complete in North Wales and the town here is well worth a visit.

Anglesey has a large variety of lovely sandy beaches and rocky coves, including six Blue Flag Beaches and a Blue Flag Marina.

Cader Idris itself is the most popular mountain in the area and the highest in South Eryri (Snowdonia). Explore the visitor centre and the incredible Cregennan natural lakes.
