Arriving into England

By Air: 

The nearest major international airports to Minehead are London Heathrow and London Gatwick

The nearest domestic airports to Minehead are Bristol Airport and Exeter Airport, where daily flights arrive from other UK airports. 

From Heathrow Airport: the Heathrow Express runs regularly to London Paddington (journey time 15 minutes). From London Paddington, Great Western Railway operate direct trains to Taunton Station (journey time 1 hour 40 minutes). From Taunton, First Buses run to Minehead (journey time 1 hour 20 minutes).

From Gatwick Airport: Great Western Railway operate direct trains to Reading Station (journey time 1 hour 15 minutes). From Reading, you can connect with a Great Western Railway train to Taunton Station (journey time 1 hour 15 minutes). From Taunton, First Buses run to Minehead (journey time 1 hour 20 minutes).

 

Getting to Minehead

By Rail: 

Nearest Railway Station: Taunton

From Taunton there are regular buses to Minehead which are designed to operate around the main train arrivals. These are operated by First Buses. You can find more information on train timetables and plan your journey on the National Rail Enquiries website.

By Road:

If you plan to travel by car it is usually possible to leave it at the guest house or hotel at the start or end of your walk for the duration of your walking holiday. We can check this for you when your booking is confirmed.

 

Departing from Westward Ho!

By Rail: 

Nearest Railway Station: Barnstable

Barnstaple Railway Station is linked to Exeter which has many rail routes serving London and the rest of the UK. 

Car Hire:

Train Tickets
Great savings can be made by buying your train tickets in advance through theTrainline website at www.thetrainline.com. Although tickets can only be mailed to a UK address, overseas customers can still order tickets in advance and collect them from a Fast Ticket machine in the UK. Fast Ticket machines are located in most mainline railway stations.
